My site has been up for a year now, and I’ve decided to make a change. From today, I’m making all content on 11+ Confidence free-to-view for everyone.
When I did the 11+ in the late 1970s, I don’t recall anyone paying for tutoring, but now it is commonplace. I’ve been on both ends of this process: first I paid for tutoring for my own children; then later I became a tutor and people paid me to teach their children. I’ve given up tutoring, and now I want to give something back. I don’t think those children whose parents can’t afford a tutor should be disadvantaged. I believe education is for all.
I must admit, marketing isn’t my strong point! I’ve had positive comments and a number of paid subscribers (thank you!), but I want to reach a wider audience. I contacted some local schools to see if I could offer free subscriptions to those on pupil premium, but regrettably the rules prohibited it - the schools couldn’t look to be favouring my site, even if I was offering it for free. I have to say this was disappointing. So I’ve decided to make it free to everyone. Perhaps word of mouth might succeed in spreading the word.
I’m still offering paid subscriptions (a fiver a month) - please consider this option if you wish to support this project.
Best wishes - Paul
