Hi there! Hope you’re enjoying the great British ‘summer’! To be fair, it hasn’t rained today at least. Anyhow, I’ve just returned from a trip to the US, and it gave me time to think over this whole 11+ Confidence project.
Right now I have double-figures free subscribers and single-figure paid subscribers. That says to me that there is a definite interest in what I’m doing, but it has yet to take off. I know there are a lot of parents out there, my issue is reaching them, and I have to admit that marketing isn’t my bag, but I’m learning and happy to try things out. Your advice or tips are welcome!
Content
Content-wise, I’m pretty much done with the 9-10 age books. Next it’s the 8-9 or 10-11. I’ve had a request for the 8-9, but I’d like to ask you for your opinion:
Target Audience
Target-wise, I think maybe this site is for people who find the cost of private tutoring prohibitive — but I might be wrong about that? Let me know. I’m not a fan of wealthy people having better access to education, and in a small way, I hope this helps to level the playing field.
USP
And what’s my USP — Unique Selling Point? I guess it’s that I’m giving honest, frank and down to Earth advice. I’m not going to put a gloss on it. Over my decade-plus private tutoring, I found that people appreciated my honesty. I always started with an assessment, and sometimes advised people that their child had little chance of passing. I’d do my best to be polite and sensitive, and make it clear that there was always an outside chance of success, regardless of what I said.
Perks and Referrals
So, if you recruit new subscribers, there’s an incentive programme to reward you with free months on this site. For example, if you recruit 3 new paid subscribers you get a free month. You can do this by hitting a ‘Share’ button, or the ‘Refer a Friend’ button, like the ones below:
I’ll be back with new videos toward the end of this month. Have a great summer!
